Release 16 of MESSENGER MASCS DDR data includes a new MASCS volume,
MESSMAS_2101, which contains version 2.0 of the DDR data set. In version
2.0, a new photometric normalization has been applied to the DDR data and
an error has been corrected in the previous photometric normalization that
caused the data to be a factor of 2 too high in value. Both version 1.0 of
the DDR data set on volume MESSMAS_2001 and version 2.0 on volume
MESSMAS_2101 will remain available in PDS. The factor-of-2 error correction
has also been made to the version 1.0 DDR data set.
Volume MESSMAS_2101 also includes a new combined UVVS-VIRS DDR data set,
MESS-E/V/H-MASCS-4-UVVS/VIRS-DDR-V1.0
In addition to the new and revised data products, volume MESSMAS_2101
includes a new document, 'MASCS/VIRS Lamp-Based Flat Field Report', in
the DOCUMENT directory. Please see DOCINFO.TXT for more information.
VIRS animated visualization products have been added to the EXTRAS
directory. Please see EXTRINFO.TXT for more information.
A new MASCS VIRS Tutorial/User's Guide has been added to the DOCUMENT
